Green Gaels Host Bulldogs in Eastern Finals
The Green Gaels have drawn the second seed Halton Hills Bulldogs in the OLA Jr. B Eastern Conference Finals. The winner of this series will move to the OLA Jr. B Finals with the opportunity to win an entry into the CLA Founders Cup Championship in Saskatoon.
This series will be a rematch previous two Eastern Conference Finals. The Gaels beat the Bulldogs 3 games to 2 in 2009 while the Bulldogs returned the favour by beating the Gaels 3 games to 2 in 2010.In 2011, these teams met twice during the regular season, with the Green Gaels taking both games in some of the best lacrosse seen all year in the OLA Jr. B loop. Every time these two teams meet up, the intensity and rivalry is overwhelming for those in attendance.
To get to this point, the Bulldogs have defeated the #7 seed Markham Ironheads and the #4 seed Akwesasne Indians. Both series were won 3 games to 0.
The Gaels have had a similar trek to the third round, defeating the #8 seed Mississauga Tomahawks and the #6 seed Newmarket Saints. Both series were won 3 games to 0.
The best-of-five first round will open this Thursday, July 21st at 8:00PM at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville at the corner of Highway 2 and Regional Road 57.
Game two of the series will be played in Halton Hills at the Gordon Alcott Arena the evening of Saturday, July 23rd. Game time will be 7:30PM.
The series shifts back to Bowmanville on Thursday, July 28th for game number three for an 8:00PM start at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex.If necessary, game four will be played in Halton Hills on Saturday July 30th at 7:30PM.
If necessary, the series will finish out up in Bowmanville with game five being played Sunday July 31st at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex. The time for game five is to be determined.

This series will be a rematch of the first round of the 2010 playoffs, which saw the Tomahawks push the Gaels to double overtime of game number four in Mississauga, before Davin Lindsay netted the game winning goal to move the Gaels to the second round. The Green Gaels captured the first overall seed in the Eastern Conference with a 19 – 1 record through the regular season. This record will provide them with home floor advantage throughout the playoffs, which will play a key part in the each and every round. The best-of-five first round will open this Saturday, June 25th at 7:30PM at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville at the corner of Highway 2 and Regional Road 57. Game two of the series will be played in Mississauga at Port Credit Arena the evening of Tuesday, July 28th. Game time will be 8:00PM.
